Maintenance Technician

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing minor and routine maintenance and repairs in a residential setting and have knowledge of light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair. This position requires commuting between the Denton & St. Michaels locations on alternating days of the week, on an on-call rotation. 


 


Salary: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience


 


Job Type: Full-time 


 


Work Location: Denton, Maryland & St. Michaels, Maryland


 


Essential Job Functions:



  • Identify and troubleshoot routine and minor maintenance repairs in a timely manner, ensure resident service requests are addressed, and accurately record work completed

  • Provide courteous and respectful service and follow up with residents regarding completed repairs

  • Coordinate and schedule inspections, testing, and servicing of building systems and safety equipment including fire alarm systems, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, etc.

  • Purchase appropriate parts and materials while keeping inventory records accurate and current

  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues outside of normal business hours in accordance with on-call procedures and company guidelines

  • Perform all work in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and health codes

  • Solicit bids and negotiate pricing with vendors and contractors when appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned by the Site Manager, Maintenance Director, or Regional Manager



 


Qualifications:


Experience: Associate level


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent



  • Must be knowledgeable in general maintenance repairs, light carpentry, plumbing, appliance repair, and heating/ac repair

  • Ability to flex work schedule to accommodate after hour and weekend emergencies

  • Safety conscious, dependable, and ability to work well under deadlines

  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between locations on alternating days and able to lift up to 75 lbs.



 


Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 24 hour on-call rotation
